Every time I pick up a decent book or vid on kendo I always run into the names of the greats like Saimura Goro (10th dan),
Takano Sasaburo, Mochida, Seiji (10th dan), Ogawa Kinosuke, etc.
But just exactly who were they? What did they do for modern kendo? What did they achieve in their lifetime? How good were they? In modern schools today are any of their students teachers overseas?
Alex(kendo world staff) is it possible to do an ongoing feature article in KW giving in depth insights into our kendo legends, so to speak?
I'd certainly love to know more about them.
