Anyone know what the word taisho means? On Google (http://labs.google.com/glossary?q=taisho) I found this: the last contestant in a team match. But is that all?
TIA

Taisho refers to the last contestant, to the position itself, and is the word for general or admiral (the military ranks).
The characters used are Tai/Dai =large, many, importance, whole and is used with many other characters to make a variety of meanings. And Shou = commander. Shou is also used with other characters to make words like shogi (Japanese chess), shogun (military dictator/ruler), and shorai (the future).
