The next one is in Lancaster May 18th (sunday) 10 til 4. This will concentrate on tate hiza no bu. I will try and get up to see you at Cullercoats before then though I have promised to pop over to Cockermouth one weekend soon. you are welcome to come along as it will be just a small class.

Thanks Tim, much appreciated! I should be back in GB on Thursday hopefully; however the wife is trying to get me to stay here which would not be a bad thing if she supported iai & kendo but unfortunately she hates it :( I have not done any kendo or iai since I got to Japan how shocking is that! I even think of it & she gives me the look
But definitely count me in for the Lancaster one & Cockermouth, I will look forward to you kicking my arse in kendo aswell :)

sounds like you need to run off with someone who likes iaido and kendo....perhaps if you start asking her single friends if they would allow you to train she might change her attitude..;)
You obviously aren't sticking to traditional North Eastern values...my wife says " one word from me and he does as he likes":D :D

Haha oh yeah I am sticking to northeastern values…one word from her & I do as I am told! <Imagine> :whipped_smiley: <\Imagine>
Its shocking Tim, I am reduced to sneaking out of bed when she goes to sleep & Concealing myself in the dunny with my laptop & phone just so I can read this forum; she would have a fit if she new I had the last 3issues of kendo-world under our bed :D …that’s an idea I wonder if Alex & Hamish could do special covers form me? even porn just not girls of kendo ;)
Shh-Man! Don’t mention her friends are you trying to get me killed! You know too much Tim…is our Yuuko paying you?
How was the seminar anyway?

the seminar was good, Saturday was basics for all, and Sunday I gave everyone a good hammering on tate hiza no bu, Neil and Brian did oku iai. Stayed above a chinese restaurant, weirdest full english breakfast I've had but really good, bacon done in a wok is SPOT ON... will be stopping there for August seminar! Indian meal did me no good, should have stopped at the chinese... probably why I gave everyone a hard time on Sunday!

No such thing as a standard, we just eat whatever. But there's a big difference in taste. For example, we prefer our toast thick and buttered while hot, not thin and stuffed into a rack to ensure maximum dryness and coldness. Grilled tomatoes are generally not seen, nor are huge gray sausages.

Cornwall, actually. I made 3 trips there in the early 90s for work purposes, enjoyed the people and the beer but the food wasn't so good. The worst was the food on the British Airways flight from London to Newquay.

hope you use the word 'food' loosely in connection to airlines, try Korean airways... that is possibly the worst I have ever had...

Never flown them. I've heard Singapore Airlines is really good, even in economy. Air Canada's domestic economy class service is really working hard to achieve new lows these past couple of years. Their international business class food/service is really good though.

Even coach on Air Singapore is excellent. Food is decent, seats are comfy, choice of movies/videogames .... And all the stewardesses are gorgeous women from a variety of Asian countries... too many choices :D
Are we off topic yet?

I'm sure I started this as a seminar announcement..:D
....So I'll finish it as one! Next one is on May 18th at Lancaster Red Rose dojo 10-4p.m. I also intend to run one at my own place some time after the world kendo championships in July, probably with a kyu grading on the Sunday as usual.
Lambs volunteering for slaughter (I'm on the panel BTW so you have no chance of passing:ogre: ...) should let your teacher know and he can either laugh and turn you down flat or (grudgingly no doubt) put your name forward:D :D :D Not that I'm trying to make you nervous or anything....:D
Anyone going to world kendo champs want to meet for a few beers and a bash?
