The 28th Australian Kendo Championships will be held Saturday and Sunday April 19-20, 2003 at the State Sports Centre, Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush, New South Wales.

The Championships and Seminar will host a delegation of Sensei from the International Kendo Federation (IKF):

Mr. Saiji IIZUKA, 8 Dan Hanshi, 62. IIZUKA Sensei is a Director of the All Japan Kendo Federation, a Company Director and Vice president of the Shizuoka Prefecture Kendo Renmei. He has performed well in Inter-corporate Kendo Competitions for 20 years, and was placed 3rd in the All Japan Inter-corporate Championships. IIZUKA Sensei visited Australia in 2000, when he instructed at the Kendo Seminar that preceded the 28th Australian Kendo Championships.

Mr. Ken'ichi ISHIDA, 8 Dan Kyoshi, 54.
ISHIDA Sensei is a Kendo instructor at the Osaka Police Academy, he was the All Japan Individual Kendo Championship in 1982 and has won the All Japan Police Kendo Championships six times. ISHIDA Sensei was featured in a television documentary on the challenge to achieve kendo 8 Dan.

Mr. Satoru KANAKI, 8 Dan Kyoshi, 52.
KANAKI Sensei is a Professor at Tokai University, he also is a liaison officer of the Dan Grading and Shogo Committee of the AJKF. He has competed on many occasions in the All Japan Teachers Championships and Inter-Prefecture Kendo Tournaments.

Mr. Hideaki TAKAHASHI, 7 Dan Kyoshi, 38.
TAKAHASHI Sensei has won the All Japan Kendo Individual Championship and is a two times runner-up, he was also a member of the winning mens team in the World Kendo Championships on two occasions. TAKAHASHI Sensei visited New Zealand earlier this year to assist with the National Team selection.

arrrggghhh!!! I wish I was still at Uni in Australia!!! Damn!!!...hmnnn...maybe I can con the HR dept. and get a month off work....;)

Damm!!! I'm trying to get a job on a Melbourne based company (into their Spain's subsidary) but the process wont allow me to get there in time!!! :)

Dammm!!!!

hopefully our 7th dan sensei comes to Madrid by the end of the month, yupieee!!

Heh, confound good to see you back...heh I just only sent Ray a messege about my 3kyu cert...which still hasn't arrived...kendoka,,,hey, you know raymond...have you met sensei breskovac or Chris Graham? haha or Mr Richard "headbutt" Barret?

You should ask Richard how he kept warm sleeping on the cold hard Kenshikan floor (Melbourne) many years ago (Aus Nationals). But, you might be sorry that you asked :D

hohoho...is it as good as the nationals in Canberra where he tried to climb out of the bus they were in to thump the dickhead in the car behind them, who was tailgating them and honking trying to overtake them on a one lane road in the hills?

Heh, Susan is the only one on the national squad from WA, right? Who is on the team this year?

Is the national coach the same as for the last WKC?

ps. who was it Australia(teams) fought in the match where Sensei Brian drew in the last match?
