Which bogu company do you think is the best?

First, list from best to worst in terms of quality (ignoring price)...

Then, list from best to worst in terms of value, you know, good equipment for the prices they charge, that sort of thing...

Nodachi san

I think that it is very difficult to say about the quality of bogu from each company as most people own just 1 set of bogu, I don't think it is going to be easy to make ranking as no one actually wear other company bogu apart from the one they own.

I don't know about the different types of company's but I shop from koei budogu co. ltd. Their quality is good as well as their price.

Well, after reading all responses related to bogu purchasing recommendations, it seems that there a limited number of bogu companies who sell internationally (online) and all of them have cheaper bogu, medium cost bogu, and high cost bogu with quality matching cost for the most part.

There's probably a couple bogu manufacturers in Japan who don't sell online or internationally and have high quality bogu that would make you cream your pants... but that's just an assumption.

does anybody know anything about Ninecircles.co.uk?
I'm thinking of ordering some stuff from them because they're close, but are they any good?
My club usually orders from eurobogu.net but they're prices are steep compared tp ninecircles....any thoughts?

Ninecircles gets most of their stuff from kendoshop.com, whereas Eurobogu gets their stuff from Koei, so it depends on what you are looking for. In general, I've found the quality of the stuff I've bought from Eurobogu to better, even when it was similar price (shinai's, tsukagawa's, etc).

Japanese vs. Korean?

Japanese equipment is pretty expensive......

Japanese equipment is relatively expensive compared to Korean equipment. Korean equipment is expensive if you get the hand-made top of the line items. If you are rich and money is no object, then Japanese equipment could be considered cheap.

Yeah, but when you go above chain mail, don't you lose your dexterity bonus to your AC???

(Oh God, I have revealed my dorkiness, say something cool, say something cool... like... ah.... yeah... so, what he said...)

Nodachi plays Dungeons & Dragons! Nodachi plays Dungeons & Dragons!

What a nerd!

Wait... don't ask how I know that....

Well, if we could have access to Ironskin spell, we wouldn't need bogu at all! Also, I think mithril is the correct spelling for the fabled LOTR stuff anyhow. I won't get into a tizzy if it's spelled differently.

I know that because my better half plays DnD. Yeah, that's it...

Ok, back to topic folks. :)

I'm going to be purchasing a 2mm set from Sehyun in about 3 months so I'll keep you posted as to how that shapes up.

Koei is nice...we get half price isnt it ? Or is it because we're from Australia and we're special ?

Bahh...it's not the armour..it's the skill wat do u guys reckon ?

Does the armour really do wonders for movement ?

Or getting nice armour is more like a way to show appreciation for kendo ?

Most likely, prolly in the long term, it would be the latter for me

Good luck to...you got it...the Australian team

Has anyone heard how Mitsuboshi bogu is? Has anyone placed an international order with them? This site is partially brought to us by them.

Someone mentioned that Mori Budogu is good. Has anyone place an international order with them?

Koei, they gave me a free catalog.

First, list from best to worst in terms of quality (ignoring price)...
Doesn't matter. If it falls apart, use duct tape.

Then, list from best to worst in terms of value, you know, good equipment for the prices they charge, that sort of thing...
Value? Quality? Hey, you gotta pay to play.

I just sent my kotes to eguchi for patching. I'm satisfied with the service and quality of work. Lisa was very responsive to my queries.

Someone got me my bogu from this place. The site is all Korean words. Since I am beginner I am not sure if it is good quality for the price but. IT seems to protect me well.
