what do you think? It's supposed to be the moon in the stream like the kendokas mind. But I wanted it to look like to old emblems of the samurai.

I thought it was a wooden grain shinai tsuba because it was too symmetrical.... :D

Same here, most people use a cresent for the moon because its clearer.

Me too... nice wooden tsuba... how about if within a circle you put a bit like a yin yang line only wavier, with next to it (as tho behind) part of a full circle to indicate the moon? It's a difficult concept to get into a diagram...

I didn't think of the tsuba, but there were some things that I did think of

1. A donut
2. The cross-section of a hollow tube

yeah your right I changed it back until I redo the new one it looks too much like a tsuba.

Hmm I would recommend colouring it too ... but that would not go well with your original intention of making it look like a samurais' old emblem would it. Forgive me if I'm wrong, I'm taking that the circle in the middle is the moon? Why not try to change the shape of the outer boundary/lining (whatever its called) from a circle to something else? May be that would make the confusion less ... but great idea
