seems like a couple of people have started the kurukuru bashing again , seems to me he hasn't attacked you lately mingshi, in fact he hasn't talked any smackdown to anybody here until confounded starts up ..you think his kendo isn't any good , you want to prove him weak ? i hope you keiko really hard for the day you meet him...you will be posting your appology to him on these forums ..

Oh wow. Yet another alter-ego to killfile.
It's not that they're bashing him, it's more an assertation of resignation at the inanity that has so thoroughly infected the board.
Personally, my care factor is absolute zero. Once you guys are in my killfile, I never have to read your drivel again. It's probably high time others started doing the same, but hey that's their call to make.

I do not understand Killfile..I understand ignoring someone using the forum facilities but to state it???!!??!

If you do not agree with someones comment... you should either respond with a comment... or just ignore it.

It seems a little childish to say..."Yet another alter-ego to killfile."

If it means I now go to your killfile then you will miss out on my witty and deep comments.
(I do have some... ocaisionally)

Ares2907

Nothing wrong with stating it. Perhaps it was some deep seated need to suggest to other board members what might be possible if all of them killfiled the trash-talking self-involved individuals who have infected the place.
Hey everyone is entitled to their opinion but they're the most readily available commodity on earth, in fact people most are desperate to give them away. I therefore place about as much value as I would anything else that is desperately flung at people.
Call me childish if you will, it remains merely your opinion. My comment was directed more to the fact that it doesn't seem to matter how many times I killfile these guys, another name eventually pops up.
I have no desire to killfile you, but you will forgive me if I don't hold my breath waiting for one of your 'deep and witty' posts.

Its the Howard Stern syndrome...His fans listen because they want to hear what he says next. His detractors listen, also because they want to hear what he says next. One to enjoy and the other to deride...

Kuru is like that, but minus the charisma, fans, intelligence hilarity,etc...his statements ring kinda more like Pauline Hanson's.

Lynn

Pauline Hanson! oooh.....that sure is harsh man...but funny! haha....that woman's nutty to say the least.

it's kinda like the first time i encounter the "killfile" function on a online forum. but i feel that it takes the fun out of it. although i may not agree with some of the stuff pp have written, but everyone's entitled to their own opinions. sometimes, just sometimes they may actually make sense. (for the record, im not refering to anyone here :P)

i can't believe you guys are judging kurukuru based on his posts. a majority of people online will act differently than the way they act in real life. it's a good thing i don't take anything online seriously or else i would get easily pissed off if i read something i didn't like like you guys *phew*.

We entertain delusions of honestly on this forum, it's why many people sign their names on their posts. It's a delusion, but it's a nice one that we like to buy into around here.

So basically, if I read something online I don't like, getting pissed off is just an act that I'll do online, because I act differently online?

Playing dumb in the virtual world and be sensible in real life... what a noble idea.

I, on the contrary, do the opposite. It's even more entertaining than dating sim.

i can't believe you guys are judging xxxxxxxx based on his posts.

dorkusmaximus, that's what this forum is for. discussing and judging stuff based on our posts. our typed ideas on the internet are the only thing we have at hand, all of us coming from a different corner of the world.

if we had the chance to meet everyone here and talk to them everyday face to face i doubt we'd even need a forum.

having said that, i think what you post here does affect your 'real' life reputation. if you come here and act like a moron, i doubt anyone will have a good impression of what you are like in the everyday 'normal' life.

also like you said, some ppl do act completely different once they're hiding under an internet nickname in a random forum. but then again, those ppl with the jekyll and hyde disorder are the type of ppl i wouldn't want as friends in real life either.

*coughtakenotekurukurucough*

Almost everyone (Confound, Mingshi, Ares) takes everything on these forums too seriously, especially when it comes to technical parts of Kendo. If you really want to have a serious discussion about Kendo go talk with your sensei.

Ares2907
5th May 2003, 08:06 AM
Silly me! I've been posting here all this time and never realised that this was a forum for fuckups who don't have anything serious to say about kendo or related matters.
Thank you SOOO much for setting me straight newbie. I mean, it seems so obvious now that you've pointed it out. I can't believe I missed it before . . .

Confound

It would seem that I have been grossly deluded. It seemed reasonable to me to think that people like Ares, Hyaku, Alex, Hamish and others who have studied kendou for years and years (some for longer than I've been alive), have wisdom to share, and may possibly be willing to offer their own insights. How silly of me to not realize that this forum is a huge gigantic joke, and that no one here actually gives a flying farting treefrog about kendo. What a jolly joke.

Frankly, with only two posts to your name, and a really recent join date, I find your credibility lacking, Mr. 1031Kenshi. Perhaps it is you who have been poorly informed, most likely by the recent furor caused by kurukuru et al. There are many people here who are able to sustain a very pleasant and literate discussion. In fact, we have had many pleasant, informative threads on a wide variety of topics. If you would care to look back through the archives, before the Southern California Invasion (SCI), you will find a wealth of excellent information.

This forum is valuable precisely because its members take it seriously. If we didn't, it wouldn't be worth anything at all. It is wise to remind everyone of the obvious at this point: A forum is built by its members, no matter how good your intentions are, you will be unable to create a good forum if your members are only interested in smackdown talk and juvenile posturing. The quality of the forum has gone steadily downhill since the SCI, but no one has done anything to fix the problem.

1031Kenshi, I urge you to have a look at threads that have not been polluted and tainted by Kurukuru and his cronies. Perhaps that will change your mind about what this forum is all about, and why we take it so seriously at times.

If this is the case, doesn't Mr. Kurukuru as well as others responsible for the "Southern California Invasion" have insights to share? It seems that they also have a lot of experience and have been doing Kendo for years and years. Maybe everyone should swallow their pride and try to learn something from everyone.

We post here to get a second opinion and expect mutual acceptance. I don't suppose people agree with what I say all the time, that kills the fun part. What people don't see is the IMHO embedded in their posts. Yes everyone is entitled to their opinion, but expect oppositing viewpoints from everyone else. BTW "I hate..." is not an opinion when you didn't attach a "why" at the end.

If you really want to have a serious discussion about Kendo go talk with your sensei.

Wow. You think I haven't hold a serious discussion about Kendo with my Sensei at all? What is the pub for?

Not only to my Sensei.... I also had conversations and arguments with many Senpai, visiting Kenshi, off-forum KW members, and people who study other Martial Arts.

HOWEVER, when the conversation gets really deep in real life, you can't take it serious. This happens every single time. Our brains don't work well under long hours of alcohol consumption.

This is the classic KW friendly-but-not-serious thread. My fav.
Freedom Kendo (http://www.kendo-world.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=143)

It will be a sad day for all of us if you take Hyaku, Alex, Hamish and the other's posts as jokes. Most of us don't know them in person, but they deserve our respect.

Should I remind you not to take me seriously?

1031Kenshi
6th May 2003, 09:38 AM
I'm sorry....I guess I didn't write what I wanted to say. I was trying to say that everyone should be more discerning in what they take seriously and respond to....if Mr. Kurukuru's posts make you mad, just don't reply to them. Don't pour oil into the flames by replying.

This is to Confound and Mingshi specifically:

You guys need to come off your high horses. You're the kind of people I talk about in my "taking kendo way too seriously" thread. Just because you've read a million books on kendo and talk to sensei doesn't mean you guys are genius kenshi. You guys even stated yourself that you've got little to nil competition experience. You don't strengthen your kendo by reading, you strengthen through experience. You can't ever expect to do well in a tournament if you don't compete. Put your pride to the side and get beat up if you have to, because I'm sure you'll learn a lot more from that than from what you read. I take kendo just as seriously as the next guy/gal, I mean I hope to someday make it to the world team like my senpai, but it doesn't mean I look down on anyone who has a little fun with it, like Mr. Kurukuru. Honestly, don't underestimate Kurukuru just because he likes to stir up the forum...he'll probably understand kendo better than either of you ever will.

titus
7th May 2003, 07:35 AM
I don't know why this topic has devolved into talking about whether people are actually good at kendo or not.

Isn't the issue here whether people are treating each other with proper respect on the forums? This has absolutely nothing to do with one's kendo skills, it's simply human dignity and expected behaviour.

If anyone wants to argue with people about their being immature or something, you should all at least stick to the facts instead of slagging each other about how great or not great you all are at kendo. People on BOTH sides of this argument keep sinking to new lows.

Mr. TheBraveFencer<musashi>,

I have read many, many books in my life. I am a bibliophile, however, very few of them have been about kendo. Never have I claimed any great, massive experience.

You, like others of my generation, and some ill-educated older individuals, seem to equate good writing skills with arrogance. It is possible to be eloquent and not be self-absorbed and over-confident. Perhaps you should learn to infer by content rather than by style, not everyone writes like an illiterate peasant. Some of us have to depend on our writing skills for our next meal.

kurukuru men is still okay, but kurukuru kote is pretty crazy right now. I've posted in "Who do you want to beat up in KWF" on page 3, that shows that Hell has been proven to be exothermic... In other words, Hell can't freeze over :(

John Milton quoted Lucifer in "Lost Paradise," Book 1, line 261 that, "...Better to reign in hell than to serve in heav'n..." So even if he got an invitation to return to heaven, in all likelyhood that invite would have gone to hell :p

And, lastly pigs do fly! But not over London... they're flying over Washington D.C. and the leader of the squadron resides at 1600 Pennslyvania Avenue in a big house painted white :D

I have been doing hasso for about 4 years now. I usually use it VS joand and nito ryu, but after i get 5 dan i will try to make it my main kamai. I only use two of the three ways of doing hasso, because one of the ways is just plain crazy( unless you have the nakauchi sensei special nodachi shinai). I will only use the kurukuru hasso style if my opponent can beat my normal hasso kamai.

Who says that watching cartoons is a kid ONLY pastime? You see the level of your stupidity and ignorance now? I can see it all now with all the crap that you contribute to this forum is so that you can laugh your head of when you meet up with your “bum chums” like Mr Inouye02 in the locker room and talk about how clever you guys think you are for saying the stuff you do on these forums. In fact I can see it now what a typical conversation between mistercurrycurry and Inouye02 would consist of.

Inouye02: “oh man dude, you was like errrr….just totally awesome today on KWF. You really put them in their place”

Mistercurrycurry: “errr….errrr…..errrr…..yeah I was kinda cool wasn’t I…muuuhahahahahhahaahahahahahahahhahahahahha”

Inouye02 “oh boy I, hehehehe…errr…really love the way you laugh, I get this like funny feeling in some place on my body, that I am too err…hehehehe….shy to tell ya.”

Mistercurrycurry: “errr…errrr….errrr…..dont be shy….muuuhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah a”

The rest is self explanatory I suppose. Anyway, do everybody a favour and just leave the forums. I know that this place is just one big joke to you, but some people actually enjoy coming here. Also you need to think about the possibility of young kendokans coming to this forum. Imagine a parent that is to see all the crap that is flying around especially from someone that is supposedly of a high rank. That parent is going to run a mile away, and not even think about sending their child to a place filled with imbeciles. So if you have any honour you will do the good thing, either SHUT UP (especially that laugh of yours) or just simply leave. I would like to make friends with you, I always believe that everybody deserves a chance, even if your intentions is to not show respect to anybody on these forums because of who you may be. But I am sure deep inside there is a good person. So please think about your actions.

You could have a point there (and quite impressive might I add for someone with such a peanut head IQ), but as this forum is going down very quickly and as the moderators are doing crap all to boot people out like you and your “Bum Chums”, then I figure that it does not hurt at all to contribute a little filth. Dearest Mr William Honda. :D

I have never once claimed that I am in some way enlightened as you put it. In fact I am the opposite, hence why I like to browse these boards for extra bit of guidance and knowledge to be a better kendokan. Although, I must agree that I have stooped to a level that is not acceptable, this I guess must be because I am truly in need of guidance :D . Unfortunately, people such as mrkurukuru and brigade acting in the way they are, are very inviting to being flamed, I guess I am not strong in mind enough to reject such an invitation, unfortunately I’ve been sucked into the filth that is being written around here. However, I do not intend on responding to these people any longer, consider this my last post to them. As I have better things to do than waste my effort responding to such people.

Also, it seems you are close in friendship to mrkurukuru and clan. It would be nice to give him and clan the same kind of talk that you are trying to give to me. Hold back your bias for one moment, yes I know that they are your friends, but even you must be able to see the wrong they have been doing…yes? If yes, I suggest you give them a small lecture when you next see them too. If no…then forget everything I said, as I will be adding you to my black book of those I should ignore.

Seriously, you can't just reply with one or two sentences?
