Based on responses in the 10 things I hate about kendo thread I thought this thread would be a good idea. Guys are always complaining that there are no cute girls in kendo. Well, hello guys, we girls have noticed that there seems to be a shortage on cute available kendoka in the kendoworld. I mean the last thing we need is to date another nonkendoka and be accused of cheating or not caring about or significant other because kendo takes up so much of or lives.
So cute single male kendoka here is your chance. Present yourselves to the women of this forum. But beware, girls have different tastes in the kinds of guys they like.

ChessQueen, the problem seems to me not to be a lack of cute, available Kendoka, but rather a lack of cute, available Kendoka living near each other. My only suggestion is to move to Europe. Or maybe we have different tastes? What can I say? I'm easy.

I am single and, at least last time I checked, male.

Hmm. Wait a sec. I am not really cute at all. Heh, and worse, I smell really bad after keiko. Drats. Besides, even if I *was* dead secsi like a movie star, my personality is as dry and stiff as my kendo. Not to mention I have a really small . . uhh . . . what did sensei say ? "You need BIIIIGer Men !" Yea, that's what I need to work on. My Men is too small. I fix that, and I'll have to beat them away with sticks. Err. Ok, I'm shutting up now.

On second thought, I'll just watch from the sidelines and live vicariously through the lives of other, younger, handsomer, higher skilled kendoka.

Chess and Kendo! Where have you been all my life? Oh yeah, across the country...

I want a woman who does kendo so she doesnt think I'm "cheating" on her with a MA. My ex couldnt understand how someone could be so committed to something like a MA. It would also be a plus if she was 10 times better than me. In kendo, that is. I think both male and female kendoka just need to find somebody who has a hobby that requires an equal level of dedication. That way you can avoid all of those "jealous of kendo" issues.
My Naginata sensei and her husband met back in there Karate days. I've never met a happier couple.

I would put my name down for this but... what can I say... my experience with kendo girls started brilliantly, but it was downhill from there. Nowadays, I dunno, you get burned enough times you start to lose faith.

I agree with Mr. T. People practicing Iaido at least have a good idea of what someone looks like without that aromatic kendo smell. Here in Japan there are lots of handsome Japanese kendo and iaido practicioners. I could introduce two or three from my club alone!

But heck, I sweat buckets during Iai practice so I don't really think the whole you-look-better-while-doing-Iaido thing is accurate (at least not for me).

Some reasons I would prefer to go out with another kendoka are:

You dont care if they stink, they dont care if you stink

they dont mind if you have gnarly feet (especially if youre proud of it)

they can help pull you out of bed on a cold weekend morning for training (...or not..)

you dont have to explain AGAIN what kendo is!

Dear Mom,

The other day, in Iaido practice, I was feeling too sexy for my saya, and all the women were checking me out, and all the men were staring at me with a combination of silent admiration and jealousy. *nods*

Did I mention this was right after we did Inyoshintai and I somehow got my left foot caught in my hakama after nukitsuke and fell flat on my face when I moved forward for kirioroshi?

I think they were all so impressed with how I handled myself. Like a real ninja. You would have been so proud !

Come to think of it, I have a tendency to lift my foot too high during fumikomi in keiko as well, catching the bottom of my hakama, and testing my mengane against the floor. Fortunately, it hasn't let me down yet!

My motodachi usually say things like, "good spirit" and "oooo, that had to hurt" so I know I must really be making big points with the women-folk of the dojo !! I know they can't look on such handsome features as I bring into the dojo, because they always roll their eyes away from me. It must affect their ability to focus. It's hard to be as irresistable as I am.

Sometimes they even giggle, in their childish embarrassment over my imposing presence around them.

Anyways, it will only be a matter of days before I pick one of the many impending marriage proposals from all the single women in the dojo. I can't wait to bring the lucky one home to you !

Yeh, basically all my friends told me this :down: (I wasn't born in this part of country). I was born on the proper side of the Afsluitdijk. I might be moving soon though, I can't get a job around here. When I go back south (or to the west) it's party time. Cute girls here I come :D.
