View Full Version : Reprinting Issue 1?
Just wondering out loud here... would demand for Issue 1 of Kendo World be such that it could be reprinted (and clearly labelled as a second printing, for those who care about the collectability of the magazine), and offered alongside stocks of Issues 2, 3 and 4? Perhaps a pack could be put together of the reprinted Issue 1 and original Issues 2, 3 and 4? That would obviously be limited deal as stocks are low(ish)? on 2, 3 and 4... so the reprinted Issue 1 could also be offered as a standalone back issue for everyone else who jumped in with Issue 2 ->
Would that be a cool concept, or am I just crazy? :)

I think that is an excellent idea and I would order a copy instantly! I have a query about those back issues that are available, when are we going to get those promised details on how to order them?

I think this is a good idea especially considering two of the previous issues I foolishly lent out have not returned and probably never will. It would also be great to purchase the previous CD roms either as a set with the magazine or separately.

I'd be interested.
Thank you for your interest in the magazine!
This topic has been bandied around quite a bit through personal mail and once or twice on the forums. The answer is the same. It would cost us an awful lot of money to re-print issue 1. So far, the costs for producing the magazine have come out of the pockets of Hamish and myself. The magazine has just got to the stage where it is supporting itself through subscribers and a few advertisers. The rest is supported by countless hours of volunteer efforts based on a love of kendo. We do intend to reprint it one day, but when that day is we cannot say at the moment. It will not be in the near future. If there were 1000 people or more who wanted it, we would get straight onto it, but that is not the case unfortuantely.

What about selling additional CD Roms? Assuming you burn them on your own equipment couldn't you ship upon receipt of payment? Then again, since you already spend many sleepless nights putting KW together maybe this is too much to ask....
Actually we don't burn them on our own equipment. They were done by a professional CD-ROM burning outfit. It would be nice to have the equipment though.

Are there any back issues left from other issues?
How can we go about buying them?
There are back issues left for all except Issue #1. Until now, we have been taking orders on an individual basis, and pumping them through to our distributors. However, as the demand is so high for back numbers now, Hamish is putting together a special order form. It was supposed to be done by now, but as always we have encountered the usual techno-problems. The forms for back issues should be up within the next few weeks.
Thanks for all your answers in this thread, Alex.
