Alright, I've exhausted my options and resources. I've been trying desperately to get Gackt concert tickets. You see, the problem is that Gackt is going to be in Sendai on two nights that are impossible for me to attend (i'll be in Nikko for one, and the next will be during a tournament, literally).

The concert promoter for this tour has everyone but GACKT available on their website. Does anyone know how to go about getting tickets in this country?

Yes, I like visual kei. Got a problem?

Gackt........ isn't that pronounced GAG?
Sorry, but being a huge, ugly yabanjin I am rather anti anything visual kei.
Have you tried the ticket agency in your local department stores?

I just found out about TicketPia today, actually. I'll be going there to get Gackt tickets soon.

That's Ga-ku-to, if you're Japanese, Ga-k-t if you're anyone else, not Gag. The guy is like a Japanese version of Prince. At least visual kei guys write their own music, unlike the morning musumes and ayumi hamasakis of the music industry. Yes, many many visual kei artists have gone through a period where their hair looks like it was rejected from a Twisted Sister video for being excessively strange, but they revert to something reasonably normal in the end.

I know of no celebrity in Japan who I would call "reasonably normal" in any way. lol

I can think of a few, Gackt, Hide, l'arc-en-ciel in general. Perhaps it says a bit about me that I find visual kei normal. . . For the record, Ayumi Hamasaki, morning musume, Kick the can crew and chemistry, incidentally, are not normal. They're abominations.

ps - the chemical brothers, however, are divine.

While I agree they are abominations, I think the visual kei are often abominations at the opposite end of the spectrum. Virtually every celebrity of any sort in Japan is a manufactured piece of merchandise with limited appeal. That appeal being to the older generations, youth who want to be rebellious (but usually just look the part instead of acting the part), and guys who spend far too much time looking at girls in school uniforms.
That being said, I do enjoy some of the music, actors, and comics. I just wouldn't want any of them in my family, lol.

I GOT IT! The very last ticket in Japan for the Nihon Budokan concert! The ticket pia website, disc garage website and another ticket selling website said that they were sold out. For the heck of it, I went to ticket pia in Sendai, and someone returned a ticket! Can you imagine? Standing room, but who cares! It's Gackt at the Nihon Budokan....

I wouldn't mind having any of the visual kei people in the family, it would mean there'd be someone I could talk to for once at family reunions...

The Nihon Budokan here in Tokyo? I have been to a concert there, Celine Dion, and it actually has very good views even from the balony and decent acoustics.

Now you only need a place to stay, lol. Shouldn't be a problem unless its a holiday weekend or such.

I think I'd almost rather not have anyone to talk to. Then again my family hasn't had a reunion in about 25 years. Heck, I haven't even been home for 8 years. Going next month though for about 17 days. I expect to suffer great culture shock.
