every year the Nippon Budokan holds a Budo Seminar for foreign residents in Japan. They have asked Kendo World to help get the word out this year. You will get to hear lectures about budo cluture, and all the hands on training and experience in your specialist budo, and anything you've always wanted to try! The 24th International Seminar of Budo Culture Announcement
Dear budo friends,
I hope that this letter finds you in good health. As a part of the Nippon Budokan’s activities to promote budo in the international community, it is my great pleasure to announce the holding of the “23nd International Seminar of Budo Culture” supported by MEXT.
1. Purpose
To provide foreign residents in Japan studying traditional Japanese martial arts with knowledge in the theory and techniques of budo, as well as deepen their understanding of historical and scientific aspects. It is hoped that this will contribute to the international development of traditional culture and foster goodwill through budo.

8. Criteria for Participation
(1) Participants must be over 18 years of age, resident in Japan, be practicing the martial arts and be able to communicate in Japanese or English as these will be the languages in which instruction is given.
(2) In principle, participants must at least hold the rank of shodan in a modern budo art.
(3) In principle, participants should be recommended by the head of their budo association or club.

13. Participant Assistance
All accommodation costs and meals over the course of the seminar will be provided by the Nippon Budokan. Participants are expected to pay their own travel expenses to and from the seminar.
14. Safety and Insurance
(1) All lecturers and participants will be insured for injury for the duration of the seminar.
(2) If a participant becomes is injured during the practical sessions during the seminar, he or she will receive treatment at a local medical centre in principle up to the amount covered in the insurance policy (1).
