MJER...one of the ways of the sword

I hate Xmas... my dojo has to shut.... However on the bright side I now have some plans for various seminars.
First up is a trip up to 'sunny' scotland over Xmas holidays for a couple of days training, which is better than visiting in-laws any day of the week...
Next I have pinned down a date in March for my own dojo to run a days training session, which will give the senior instructors a chance to get together and organise the big seminar in September...Hopefully we will have the dates from our japanese sensei by then and we can finalise the venue and date. Anyone who has tried to organise a visit like this will appreciate some of the difficulties concerned, its not just a case of turning up and paying the fees! This year is a bit of an anniversary as it is now 15 years since Iwata sensei's first visit to the UK, so we are thinking of having something a bit more special...what however is the question!
I was asked last year to visit Venezuela by a very keen group of students, and am going again in April. Some of them have now been to Japan for training, so it will be interesting to see how they are progressing. This group struggles to get kit of any sort due to restrictive import laws there, so I am slowly putting together various bits and pieces to take over.
I have an overnight stay due to flights at Paris, so am taking the opportunity to visit one of my students and his little group. Halls are hard to get in Paris, his usual training time started at 10pm, but has now moved to 8pm...
After that we have the usual seminars scattered through the year of one every month or so...my favourite being up near Perth, where I get to take a very long weekend doing iaido, archery, and fishing for salmon... So... plenty to look forward to!
