Hey everyone,

So I was just wondering, does anyone know of a place that has reviews on a lot of shinai's? I usually frequent E-bogu, E-mudo, and recently began looking into Boguzen. I've been on a shinai craze couple times before, looking at what would be best, grip, size, type, material, lol....

So I was just wondering, does anyone know of a place that has reviews on a lot of shinai's? I usually frequent E-bogu, E-mudo, and recently began looking into Boguzen. I've been on a shinai craze couple times before, looking at what would be best, grip, size, type, material, lol. However many times when I'm interested in trying a shinai out, there's not much of a description and in most cases no review. If nothing like this exists, I was thinking about maybe starting up a blog that reviewed shinais. I wouldn't update it as frequently due to costs xD, but we could have it where anyone else that'd like to post their review would be added to the blog, or would add their review/opinion of a shinai thats already posted on the blog. Summer break is coming up, and I'll be getting some money teaching, just a fun thought.

Sorry for this stupid question, but I've recently come across this term "rengi" ... I did see this mentioned in another thread (from 2007?!?), but I just want to make sure I understand this term perfectly clearly...

Does "Rengi shinai" mean it's just the bamboo slats with no leather included?

I have been browsing through e-bogu.com's array of Tokusen Madake Shinai, and took some interest in the Nadeshiko (or Kenja) shinai. However, there seems to be no feedback as of yet. Has anyone here owned or tried this model? If so, how is it in terms of durability, weight, ease of use (I have relatively small hands), versatility for both practice and tournament use, comparisons to other shinai, etc.?

Thank you for your time.
