Nothing worse than getting smacked in the elbow. Well, there is, it's called getting smacked in the same place on the same elbow and collecting a couple more bruises under the same armpit. I'm just glad that there is (supposedly) no chance of getting whacked in the nads.

I turned up to work the next day and rolled my sleeves up to start work on a car, my workmate saw the bruises and said "Kendo last night? Right?" and laughed.

        Snow falls on the ground
Now I must walk up the hill
        Back to train I go

        Cold fills the dojo
        My body is very numb
        Warmth of jikeiko

That last line can be Warmth of jikeiko or keiko depending on how you count the syllables.

Can you tell it's cold and snowing here? Only 7 more months until spring.... Kill me.

        Maki otoshi
My shinai is on the floor
        What do I do now?

              Not everything known
Can be handled by using a sword
              Dont ever forget that kendoka

              Do not cut the ones
Who cant use a weapon like you
              Listen to your heart instead

              Not everything is war
              You should remember that sometime
              Dont draw all the time

              The two most serious deeds
Are to let a chance pass over
              And to rush thoughtless

              Be sure to fight for
              Peace and security only
              But then be mercyless

                Here's my entry:

                Bamboo is not steel
Yet cuts must be true and clean
                Spirit hones the edge

                      ...sorry for getting emotional, but...

                      Should I ever stop
                      Seeking for a perfect cut
                      which does not exist?

Just came back from Australia, did a state training session:

                            Forty degree heat
                            The dojo has no aircon
                            Fuck I am dying...
