Out of curiosity: do they have air-conditioning or fans in the dojo?

You just need a shinai for now - call ahead and ask if you can borrow one first.

You need to contact Mr Yap first. The beginners classes are starting soon or have already started. You need to sign up for those first, everything will be provided.

                  good o luck

Beginners don't need equipment except for the shinai.
First, you wear normal athletic clothing to practices.
Then, you get to wear a uniform.
Then, you get to wear armor.
Every dojo, or school, is different.
Don't ask KhawMengLee about armor, he's got rich-boy show-off bogu.
