  • Haedong Kumdo Sword Master!

I have never seen Yahoo News post any kendo/kumdo photos. This is very rare!

    Yahoo News photo caption:

South Korean traditional art of sword-fighting 'Haedong Gumdo' master Youn Ja-kyung performs a sword dance at a school in Seoul February 23, 2004. Youn, a 26-year-old woman, has practiced the art since she was 13-years-old and became a master in 1995. Picture taken February 23, 2004. REUTERS/Kim Kyung-Hoon

          FUNNY.

Anyway, she has time to do all this stuff while being a public prosecutor?

Prosecutor by day and by night, she is going out to punish those guilty but can't prosecute during the day, they call her DARK ANGEL.

I admire her dedication in this, being a public prosecuter takes a lot of time and not to mention the years she went through in trying to get the law degree. All that time and she still can find time to practice.

All is GOOD but if she's 26 now and became a master 9 years ago while she started at age 13 - that leads me to believe that she became a master of sword dancing in 4 years? Am I missing something? Some people are genius about something but with her day job all - I must be missing something.

Haedong gumdo - from what I've seen, the only connection to swordwork is that they hold a sword in their hands while they prance about.
