  • Ryoen - Ryu Naginatajutsu

    Dear everyone,
once I took the seminar by Shimizu Nobuko sensei. It was impressive and I'd like to get address (e-mail or post) from her or from her official representative. For info: she's retired music professor, orginer of Ryoen - Ryu Naginatajutsu, student of Toya Akiko Sensei, now she work under Sekiguchi komei (Komei Jyuku MJER) and she probably live somewhere in Japan. De anybody know - does she have her own dojo or does she teachink uder Sekiguchi only?
    Thank you for all informations,
    Roza Jaki

        Hello Marcos,
Thank you for your offer. But there's problem: my ex-club changed style from Komei Jyuku MJER to Mugen Kai so they probably won't be willing to practice with me. What can I do, if I have no master or teacher, no co-practitioner, practically nothing? All I have is just one CD with video from seminar of her kata. Even if I started to practice myself, how could be sure that I won't learn wrong technique? I really want to study Ryoen - Ryu Naginatajutsu, but probably there's no chance ... Can you tell me - does she have a honbu dojo or something in Japan?
        Greetings,
        Roza Jaki

          Hi again Tomoe!
You have many options to train Ryo En Ryu naginatajutsu.

1 Go to a dojo with an official instructor of Shimizu Nobuko sensei.
As far as I know, in Europe you have Instructors of Ryo En Ryu Naginatajutsu in:
          - Austria : http://www.seishukai.at/
          - Savigny (Paris - France): http://www.komei-savigny-juku.new.fr/
          - Czech Republic: http://www.komeijuku.cz/cms/?q=en/shimizu-nobuko-sensei
          - Spain : http://iaidomadridtaiitsukan.blogspo...de-ryo-en.html

2 Go to any semminar arround you, with Shimizu Nobuko sensei.
Usually in the first days of January (for Kagami Biraki) you have a seminar in Austria with Sekiguchi Komei Sensei and Shimizu Nobuko sensei for Ryo En Ryu naginatajutsu.
You have the Sekai Taikai of Komei Jyuku, with 21 Sekiguchi Komei in Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu iaijutsu Yamauchi ha and Shodai Shimizu Nobuko sensei in Ryo En Ryu naginatajutsu, in Germany from 30 april to 5 may 2013.
You have also in May a seminar in Poland with both senseis too, Sekiguchi and Shimizu senseis.
From 29 july to 4 august you have a seminar in Spain with both sensei, 21 Sekiguchi Takaaki Komei for Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu iaijutsu and Shodai Shimizu Nobuko sensei for Ryo En Ryu naginatajutsu.

3 Go to japan for train with Shimizu sensei.
There is no former hombu dojo but maybe it is possible train with her.
The best oportunity is in the Hombu seminar in Katsuura in Japan, with all the senseis of Komei Jyuku, including Shimizu Nobuko sensei of naginatajutsu, of course.

If you are interested in a litle bit of history about Ryo En Ryu a few days ago I wrote something in my Blog. For the moment is only in spanish (may be You can use some kind of translator) but I'll try to translate it to english in the future ^_^

I Hope I helped you, but I've you have any further question please send me a PM ^_^
          Marcos.
