    Dear Kendoka,

    The Kendo World Team hopes that your training is going well, and that you are getting geared up for the hot weather that is just around the corner.

    It has been almost a year since we held the 1st Kendo World Tokyo Keiko-kai at the Nippon Budokan on Saturday June 30, 2012, where we had 50 participants joining in keiko with seven 8-dan sensei. It is with great pleasure that we are now able to announce the 2nd Kendo World Tokyo Keiko-kai which will be held on Saturday July 20, 2013, from 10.00 to 12.00.

    The All Japan Naginata Championships (AJNC) was held on Saturday December 1 and Sunday December 2, 2012, in Yokosuka, not the most beautiful city in Japan. The men's event on Saturday was rather like an appetizer as it was much less attended that the women's contest the following day.     First, my editorial takes a look at the recent WKC held in Novara, Italy. our tri-annual foray onto kendo’s world stage is becoming less predictable in terms of results, and which of the traditional kendo values will be tested by fire.
