    about your thread, Training you eyes... here is my finals match from last year at a regional taikai last year. I remember when my sempai started teaching me how to train my eyes. it was two months before this taikai. I started doing hundreds of Uchilomi Men, Kote & Kote men with a friend (4x each). and each time I received I would watch for the attack & visualize myself intercepting with debana Kote or men. I went 9-0 in that taikai ( 5 matches with no points scored against me).

    I now play Jodan & it's extremely important that I can read my opponents or I will be destroyed. So even now i do lots of uchikomi & kakarigeiko practice.
