Thx for the rep man. Although I passed nidan the hachidan I came to visit in Japan told me that I no longer had the nice posture and kamae from before. So all in all my Kendo has taken a shit.

Hey, Bro Here is a video of my match this past sunday in the Yudansha Division of the SCKF Champs.(my first time). I didn't win but a lot of people thought I won. The judges said not enough zanshin & not clean enough to award the points. But I did get quite a few one Flags ^_^ oh well it was really fun.

Interesting~ I just re-read the post that I left in this forum and I found your reply to my post about Henry Small.
As I could feel your eagerness toward Kendo in your reply, I came here to leave a message and found that you visited Korea before.(I also visited your flickr site. please don't be afraid. I am not a stalker)
I also happened to practice Kendo in Korea Univ. last year. Happy to find the familiar faces in your picture.
    Literally, a small world.
Anyway, thank you for leaving reply to my post and hope we can communicate in this site in the future too.

    thanks for the rep!

Just like summer camp, except with booze and violence....

Gasshuku: a word that brings both joy and terror. Joy because of the amount of keiko to be had over a weekend, and terror because, well, the amount of keiko! I have been to a number of gasshuku at different dojos during my time in Japan but it was my first time attending this particular gasshuku. I was already a little concerned because the sensei who beats the tar out of me on a regular basis would have me at his mercy (that word is not in his vocab by the way) for two days, but I didn't know how

お前とやりにくくなったなー

by xvikingx on 17th April 2009 at 11:16 AM
お前とやりにくくなったなー "It was difficult doing (*in this case) kendo with you" is what sensei said to me after keiko last night. I can't think of any other activity where I would be pleased to hear that. If a woman told me that I'd be gutted. If I were on a baseball team I'd feel ashamed with my performance. After kendo, I feel great! In fact if I were told the opposite, 上手やな "Your

You can catch more flies with honey...

So Alex offered me a blob spot (*I can't stand the word blog, so hence forth it shall be called blob on my blob) on Kendo World the other day. God knows why, but bless his cotton socks. I've never blobbed before. I have to admit I'm not much of a writer either. In fact every attempt at keeping a diary has ended with me either forgetting about it or losing the actual booklet I was writing in. I can't promise material as interesting as Alex's work; hell I can't even promise semi-regular updates. However,
