    This really has a lot to do with cultural/familial upbringing. Some cultures think accepting help/needing help makes one weak and therefore offering help to someone is the same as saying they are weak. If you feel that it's just friendly to help someone who fell, then there's nothing wrong with that....

    I'm just not convinced that this transition counts as an example of sanpo mamori. I wasn't intending to be negative so I apologize if that's how it came across.
