Some answers are:
2) In my country, aspirants train in a squad for a year or so, then through exhaustive shiai, selection of team members is made.
4) Google is your friend....
Maybe use something other than G+ to post your pics? Login/account/password. All are hurdles.
Well common sense for a start.
1. If you want to replace the fluids that you lose.
2. You may need or wish to pee, so you would replace that as well.
3. The total is obviously going to be more...
I couldn't agree more. Well put.
Just referring to re-hydration after kendo training. Like you guys, I train pretty hard for 2 hours on most occasions. I lose a lot of moisture, depending on the ambient heat, that could be 2 to 5...
Red himo create confusion in competitions. When the players are flying around all over the shiaijo, the shinpan already have tough job to do, so the red himo just confuses things. Apart from that,...
I know people who do both kendo and aikido, one for over twenty years of both and there's no problem.

Which is your iaido dojo?
I think you just did, yourself. I'd add (not seen your other post) that a tachi was intended for a horse mounted soldier and a katana for a soldier on foot, generally. The fittings and markings may...

The AJKF/ZenKenRen have an online shop where you can buy an excellent Nippon Kendo Kata manual and a pretty good DVD.
Well, not all Tetron iai clothes are at the cheap end of the scale. Some are custom tailored, look a bit like silk and are quite nice.
A rude fellow around here was a bit disrespectful to a visiting sensei once. Later, in keiko the sensei tsuki'd the rude guy up the wall and held him there, feet of the floor, for a second or two...
The video was produced in 2001, in colour of course, but the version on Youtube has been converted to B+W.
The music sounds like it might be from a chinese MA movie "House of Flying Daggers". http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=193660890&s=143460
Iaido Kyoshi 8 Dan
Noboru Ogura.
The youtube vid has been pinched from the AJKF Iai video/DVD, with some nice music added.
Kendo kata contain kendo waza, seitei doesn't.
Is it too late to order on with longer himo?
