I never thought of it like this. I mean, I ALWAYS wear my kendogi and hakama from home, never gave it a second thought. I would get odd looks and comments most of the time as well. Although, next...
The Sword of No-Sword by John Stevens, a great read no matter what level your at.
I think the Fuji-Thistle would be good, but I think it would be cool if you did something like Yamaoka Tesshu's 'Zen Snail' painting.

Haha, it's like power ranger's Kendo. Anybody notice the kid's tenugui is actually tenugui for Matsuri?
That was good, thanks for posting that on here. The Kendo portion was actually very good.
Ho ho ho! Robot chicks, ooo... I might have to get me some of those...
Speaking of which, anybody have a video of the realistic robot ladies?
This reminds me A LOT of The Sword of Doom. His Gedan no Kamae reminds me of Ryunosuke's silent-something form.
No, no. I meant, when, like when regular kendo was founded, started using Bougu and Shinai. A simple incorrect usage of word.
Yes, Nito ryu was derived from the Kenjutsu ryu, Hyoho Niten Ichi ryu which was founded by Miyamoto Musashi. Also, yes, the waza of Nito ryu is accepted in Kendo.
I can't tell you when, or how...
You know, that actually looked like it would have been a good Kote if he had good tenouchi.
Doesn't Parker-sensei live in Okinawa now, or somewhere over there? That's cool he'll be coming, though.
How many judges do they need for a Sandan test? I thought it was quite a few, no?
Do you know who else will be testing the testers? Besides Maeda-sensei and Jin-kee Hyun?
You know, I've been wondering this myself. I see the Kendo-ka in the ZNKR championships doing it ALL the time, but I read Ozawa's The Definitive Guide to Kendo and it says that it is illegal to do...
Well, you've got a couple good kendojos there. The New York City Kendo Club, Kato-sensei's dojo and you've got the Triangle Kendo and Iaido Club in Raleigh.
I don't thinking dressing for a funeral is correct, seeing as nearly all Aikido-ka tie their Hakama-himo that way as well as Iaido-ka.
You know, I was thinking of the other ways of tying the Hakama. Aren't the knots associated with a certain class during the feudal period of Japan. One was the way the Samurai tied it, another was...
Nice, thanks for posting this. Especially for the Bokuto Kihon.
Both E-bogu and Kendoshop are in America. Kendoshop has a place... somewhere, you just have to go to .net I believe, in order to get the American shop. E-bogu is in California.
Oh yeah, buddy. That was some hardcore stuff.... must have more... need more...
For the most part, the United States has set essays for each rank... depending on which level, not entirely sure. Although, I do know that for Ikkyu it's 'Describe The Benefits of Kirikaeshi' and...
Was that the program with the Tokyo University doing Suburi, and then Hideo Kobayashi starts talking?
DANG! How tall are you, Scott? That's crazy, must've been hard trying to get around in those houses.
What does the Kanji mean on that Tenugui? Is it Ken, Ki, and Shin? Or am I just getting it wrong, when it's actually supposed to be Ki, Ken, and Tai?
Your Sankyu, and you don't have Bogu?...
