I know what you mean. My Kendo certainly falls apart as well...
All my Senseis sees karkarigeiko and other drills as way to cure all the bad things we see in our Kendo.
Our Sensei always puts us through a few rounds of karkarigeiko just before jigeiko so that we are tired and bring out our best Kendo.
I came across a blog which discussed about this kamae some time ago. Here's the link:

Yes I tried that once when I travelled to the UK. In the end the shipping and the cost of the one shinai was about the same as paying the extra luggage fee.
I hear ya on this one. I broke a person's shinai once during my a visit to a dojo so I always bring my own regardless of the cost at the airport.
I'm wondering if the origins of the strange stances came about because of the opponent had long halberd type weapons that would sweep the leg or that they would send the whole blade crashing...
Flipping heck! I would be itchy to strike back at the bugger after all that abuse!
I repaired a hole (about 5mm in diameter) that developed on the right thumb of my kote using a piece of leather from a tsukagawa and superglue. The fix definitely stops the hole getting bigger.

Do you hit alot on your knuckles because you frequently act as motodachi?
I purchased a set of 1.2 bu kote from bogushop 3 years ago and they are still holding up pretty well. I like the padding which protects my hands. Here's a link:...
I have a pair of kendo glasses from http://www.bogushop.com/proddetail.asp?prod=KA00 and I tried them on for the first time after getting some prescription lenses and they work very well.

Hi,
I know the Calgary Kendo Club has a good technical guide you can download. I'm sure you can base a syllabus from that.
Thanks,
Were you able to get any feedback from the judging panel afterwards?
You know you've had a good session when you have that first sip of beer...
I hope so, in a way the WKC is a snapshot of what an Olympic Kendo event would be like. With adrenaline and tempers running high I reckon we could see the Kendo version of this happening....

Hi,
Maybe the closet thing to what you are looking for is the Hoshu Vancouver Dojo - see the CKF website for details. They do jodo but I imagine that the utilise the bokken in the some of the...

I just search in google: 8th Dan Kendo Championships.
I was just wondering if we will see Miyazaki Masahiro participate in this year?
Hi,
Does anyone have a lineup of the up and coming 8th Dan Championships that are scheduled to take place on the 15th of this month?
