I'm not going to it, but I'm curious...

Does anybody know what the seminar entails before and after lunch?

..or what it has entailed in the past?

    Just curious...

Chiba sensei gave our seminar last summer and spent a week training with us. He probably will not follow the same format. For the seminar, in the morning if I remember correctly we spent a fair bit of time on the importance of kirikaeshi, and the relationship between timing and footwork. On Saturday afternoon, kata & shimpan. On Sunday we worked on seme and ma with a special workshop for those in jodan. You will have a great time. It is too bad I did not know he was coming I would have tapped my achilles and come down.

I just re-read your post....Kosaka sensei from Osaka Police? Is that the same sensei that Chiba sensei fought in Kyoto a month ago during golden week? What a match! If you are lucky you will see a re-match

    Thumbs down west coast again?!

    west coast again?!

ARGHHh….. somehow AUSKF Kendo camp always held in West coast?! Why can it be closer to New York area??!!

I know West dominates Kendo and East dominates Iaido, but why is every important camps scheduled over there…Not fair if you ask me.

I'll be there. The schedule usually includes lots of practice on kendo basics plus whatever waza the sensei are interested in teaching. Sunday mornings are usually kata.

Hey, how did the Summer Camp go? My sensei, Koki Ariga, 7th dan, kyoshi, was there. I didn't get a chance to ask him after keiko yesterday.

How many people were in attendance? I know when we had summer camp last July for AUSKF, there were over 200 of us in a high school gym.
