    Southern New Mexico (USA) Kendo?

    Hi all,

Nice work on the sight and it's great to have a place for kendoists to chat.

I know it's a long-shot, but I am looking for kendo practice in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I am a graduate student at New Mexico State University and I have to drive a little over an hour to practice in El Paso, Texas.

I have thought about starting my own club here at the University, but I would like to have at least one other experienced kendoist as it would be much easier to teach (not to mention funner too).

Any suggestions??? I am especially interested in hearing from those who have started clubs of their own.

    Thanks!

    Kendoman,

Thanks for the information, but that dojo is about 4 hours North of here. It's at the University of New Mexico. I'm down South at New Mexico State University...I guess I'll just have to start a club myself!

    Thanks again,

    Jonesey

    AUSKF

I had also put down the AUSKF info incase the dojo was to far away. You might want to contact them and see if they will or could help you start a new area dojo. They could also give you some food for thought Etc.

You've raised a topic dead for 7½ years..That must be some kind of record.

Sorry to resurrect this one, but it seems this thread constantly comes up when searching for a dojo in New Mexico, so just for those who are looking for one in that state, here is a link to one in Albuquerque area: nmkendokai

    Jonesey,

Let me know if you ever get a Kendo Club going. My friend and I have been looking into kendo but we don't have the money to drive to El Paso every week. Neither of us have experience but we're willing to learn.

    Thanks.

    Hi Heather,
Since Jonesey's original post was made in 2002, I would guess that he has since finished his graduate studies and moved on.

Shouldn't New Mexico have dropped the New bit by now?

I guess New Mexicans would follow once New Yorkers comply with your advice.

Took you four months to come up with that response?

This time it took me it took me nine months to reply to yours. X-) Go figure... I don't get on this forum that often. 文武不岐. Why is it that so many people simply try out kendo for few weeks and then quit ?
