I am a bit shy... Is it really ok to see you practice guys? ever since I was a kid... I had a love affair with swords... not the star-wars carnival sense..... Its like I am attached to it somehow. I enjoy it beyond the fables (but i am in awe of them ).

I am from around pasig.. I saw kids wielding bokkens and wearing navy-colored hakamas once around sheridan.... I thought i was in a dream
I kinda followed them and saw them go into a gym... I then looked it up on the net to find this forum guys...

WAAAAH! this is a dream come true, for 5 years or so i have been relying on books and videos for practice ..... I hope to be a part of this soon
I have a love affair with the sword

    Re: Dream come true

Oh, I so know how you feel. I have a love affair with swords too. It's been an integral part of my days now that I know I can't stop training. I would like to learn Kendo, but foremost I would like to continue Iaido. My goal is to reach a skill level where i could use a live katana (long long way to go). Which brings me back to my previous question, do you guys practice Iaido in your dojo? I came across your website but it was under construction so i couldn't find more info. I'm glad i found this forum to get more information.

hi kam1ya, we don't have iaido classes in MKC but I think there's an aikido dojo here that holds weekly iaido class.... i'm really not sure.

it's been a year already and i can't believe that i'll be joining the bogu class soon

i've already tried it on, full gear.... and i can barely move especially with the men. is that normal?
i was wondering if i'm wearing it the wrong way that's why it's very difficult to move.
btw, i'm the fatty guy from july 2008 class

There's actually one kenjutsu dojo here in the Philippines but it's very far from Manila. Here's the link:

Yeah, it's been a year indeed. It went by so fast.

It's normal at first if you can't move. But you'll get used to it eventually. Have Sempai-I check it if you're wearing it correctly.

you don't really need to wear gi and hakama when you start kendo. you'll be only wearing a shirt and then shorts or jogging pants during your first few months in training. i wore mine after 9-10 months.

anyway, for your size.... i think size 6.5 (kendoshop) will fit you.

the only problem is that my head is too big that i have to wear a large men which intended for taller guys. the tsuki protection pad hits the chest area of my do that's why i can't move my head properly.
