    Hi again

It's me, after a bit of hibernation I'm back. Any Filipino kendokas, could you please point me the way to the MKC dojo so I could visit sometimes?

*not sure if this is the right place for this. Apologies if this should be placed somewhere else*

I'm currently working in the Makati area, and am looking for a dojo which is willing to accept newbie male and female students. (My girlfriend and I have long planned to join).

    Additional questions:
    * when would be a good time to join? (registration/application period etc?)
    * what costs would we be incurring? (training fee/equipment/etc)
    * how often (and in what days) would the trainings be?

    Would appreciate any help!

    - Andrei

    Andrei,

^ The next beginner's class will be on January 2010. I think you can reg/apply anytime before then, just dont forget to watch a practice session first.
^ 2000 one-time joining fee plus 750 monthly fee, which is paid bimonthly. So you'll be paying a total of 3500.
    ^ Once a week. Saturdays, 5-7pm.

Please read 3-4 pages back (around page 48/49, I think), more details are posted there.

are there still regular practice sessions in rfm every Saturday? just might drop by one day to see how a practice session is held. How old is your oldest beginner?

Umm... excuse me. I'm eleven and ever since I was nine I was a fan of kendo... but too bad I don't even know if I'm accepted in the age limit of MKC. I'm deadly serious. And for starters, is there even a shop in Metro Manila where they sell the bogu, shinai and stuff?
I need all your help. (All of you senpais & senseis- kuyas and ates alike)

A few verification, I'm interested in joining the Manila Kendo Club and I've read that the initial membership fee is 2500php and a monthly payment of 750php, but upon registration will have to advance a two months payment. Making a total of 3500php, correct? So my question is are the equipments included in the 2500php? Or do we have to buy are own equipments like shinai?

    Thumbs up

Equipments are sold seperately. the membership cost 2000 and the monthly fee cost 750 which is paid every two months(youll have to pay 1500 in advance).
Shinai and hakama can be bought at the club unfortunately youre on your own when it comes to bogu. shinai is roughly around 1500 and the gi and hakama
cost 1500+ each. you wont be using bogu for sometime so youll have plenty of time to save big bucks$$

I'm planning to visit the club practice sometime this month. When will be the start of the beginner's class??? And when is the appropriate time for me to visit, I was actually planning on October 3, 2009, but unfortunately I canceled it due to the storm.

One of the sempais told me that there will be no training tomorrow(October 3, 2009) because our dojo(RFM gym) is being used as a sort of donation/vounteer/packing station for the typhoon victims.

Please verify this news and confirm us here if the info is correct, Thanks

RFM Gym is the headquarters of Operation GK Walang Iwanan... so I guess there's no training tomorrow. Still, it would be nice to have this confirmed by one of our senpais.
