try going this satruday and ask permission from the head of the dojo. i think they're still accepting beginners for this batch (Jan 2010). please bring extra work out clothes (jogging pants, plain shirt) and around P3,500 for the annual and bi-monthly fees.

Hi, i'm a student interested in learning kendo. It seems that the beginners' training program for this half of of the year has already started. I've read above that it might still be possible for the head of the dojo to accept new members this coming saturday. I'm thinking of dropping by to check it out. but before i do, can someone please answer a question i have?

Unfortunately, I have class this saturday afternoon until 5pm, i'm planning to head on over to the dojo as soon as i finish. my question is, since i read somewhere in this thread that the head is really strict with regards to punctuality, will i still be entertained as an observer if i arrive late?

Hope to hear from any of you guys soon. Thanks.

    Hi Shmurt,

As an observer, no problem. But, you might have problems with your schedule as training starts at 5pm.

I've already started Kendo last Saturday. I have several questions to ask:

    1. I was wondering how much is the Shinai? Can I order this online other than MKC? Is the Madake Shinai any good? What good brand can you recommend?
    2. When are we going to wear the full gear - Kendo Gi/Hakama/Bogu set/tenugui and etc?
    3. How much will this cost all in all?

    Thanks!!

Hassle. I have these Saturday classes until i graduate at the end of February. I guess i'm just gonna go and see what's up on Saturday. I'll definitely be late though. Most probably I'll enroll in July when my schedule's a lot more flexible. Thanks for replying, guys. I'll see you this Saturday.
