    Is this correct of what I've read so far in the thread?

    Yamanishi-sensei is a hachi-dan, isn't he? Would be very interesting to see two hachi-dan in a match! ^^

    *Haven't checked the forum for a while, looks better now!
    nope! I heard yamanishi-sensei is 7th dan.

    For those who haven't seen this yet, here's the documentary wanderer was probably talking about.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXMfPPWkMVY

    Gives a little perspective on what it takes to be hachidan.
    yup that's what I'm talking about, to those who have no idea what a hachidan is, please watch the documentary, it's very informative.

    he is of the same age as me, which is 16 Years old haha XD
    What??? 16 years old only and a hachi dan?? now I'm sure your friend is just joking LOL! hachi dan will never ever gonna be awarded to a mere 16 year old kid! even if he's a gifted one, so don't believe him, he's just making fun of you.

    The minimum age requirement just to take the exam is 46 years old with at least 8 years as 7th dan, The idea for those requirements is that a hachidan should have matured as a person as said in the documentary. And even if qualified to take the exam, there is still the test which is said to be the hardest. Some took the exam more than 10 times.

    haha, but he didnt took the examination in Japan, only here in Baguio
    Baguio?????, the summer capital of the Philippines? I see, so that explains it.

    Wow, just seeing it here looks like the test is really hard, haha, I cant wait to experience these kinds of challenge, lol XD

    And.. I hope that some things I've learned from my research will help me in these hahaha XD

    @wanderer: thanks for the correction ^^

    i agree with you. imo, if he (RuneKnight XD's friend) really plays kendo, he's probably a hachikyu than a hachidan. ^^v

    @ RuneKnight XD: re: the shooting range, is it privately owned? as far as i know, there isnt a single dojo that offers kyudo training here in the country.

    @xmm1786

    Yeah they privately own it, haha now wonder cuz his family is an aristocrat in Britain anyway XD

    I like to visit in their place sometime, i hope i get the chance TT__TT

    @Hrodgar
    Yeah, thats what he said to me anyways haha, but, i still need more proof regarding of what he said to me, haha XD

    @Wanderer
    Hmm yeah.. kinda hard to believe anyways, haha, but, as soon as i get the chance to visit him in his house, I will finally be able to find out the truth, still i doubt that he is really a Hachidan haha, but, lets see anyways, i'll tell you guys if i finally be able to go to their place and see if he is telling the truth XD

    Sure thing boss. Must tell the others as well, because I can't wait to hold a Shinai. hehe

    Hajime!

    Mae - Ato - Migi - Hidari

    Yame!

    Mae Mae Jump Mae

    Mae Jump forward (push with left leg) - Ato Jump backward (push with right leg)

    Ichi-ni-san-chi-go-roku-sichi-hachi-ku-ju

    I think the hardest part is the Mae jump forward and Ato jump backward with the clapping. Need some serious coordination. lol

    See you this Sat.
