    ok, I'm not an expert, but I am highly intrigued by names, Iaido, iaijutsu, the little nuances in speech interest me. I'm sorry to have sounded sarcastic and pompous

    I think it would help you understand the reaction you got if you were to run through some of the various forum archives and did some reading on old "do vs jutsu". It's one of the oldest of the dead horse topics and some past threads have gotten remarkably heated. A consensus seems to have emerged over time. There is certainly still disagreement about the details, but we've all pretty much decided we don't want to talk about it anymore
