Return of the back yard warriors.

If you love baton twirling, back yard ninjering, self-adulation action...watch this! Oh, and by the way, he doesn't take criticism too well, which makes the whole thing that much more entertaining.

Is no one else getting tired of these? We all go on about how terrible they are, so why post links to them?

Some people don't stop being amazed by how ignorant some people can be. You're right we should really care anymore, ignorance is something we should be callused to (especially us) and probably something I just wrote was ignorant. It's the same responses always, who cares. Why bother showing some situational wisdom towards this to fill in the blanks that are normally filled in other places like this by someone else? There's nothing to really say.

Probably because half the people on this forum were once wall-hanging backyard-Bud-k-twirlers at least ONCE in their lives.
Only there was no Youtube to shock and awe the rest of the world until only recently.

Those of you who had even ONE Bruce Lee, Star Wars,(Including the one with Princess Leia in the slave outfit..) or Sho Kosugi posters adorning your walls as a teenager know who you are.....

    Aaaaaaahhhh.....
The truth of that last statement is simply delicious, I tell you.

    Thumbs up

when i was little, i've always rolled up 4 days worth of news paper and rolled it length wise to make myself a "sword". I really enjoyed smacking things around. it was a lot of fun,

And there's a junction at which someone continues to do that and calls it kendo or joins a dojo. Most of this site is the latter. Most of the youtubes is the former.

When I was in Cubs (the younger version of Scouts) we made Paper Mashie helmets and were given cardboard tubes (about 1 meter long), Then sent outside to wage war on each other (while helmets vs Black helmets).
Now that would have made a good youtube video.

I remember having to retreat down the hill side as I got a few to many Black caps offside by beating them around the head a bit to effective.

20 years on not much has changed

P.S. Princess Leia in the slave outfit was hot.

Because most of them are hilariously funny!!! If you peeked over your backyard fence and saw someone doing this in their yard, youd laugh your knickers off .

We never got to do cubs, but the next best thing was tipping over a couple of 44gallon drums, sitting on them waving a stick around pretending to be knights with lances. Some of my best memories as a kid. Im amazed noone lost an eye. You also got covered in diesel from head to toe...
Getting back on the kendo horse - it bites and kicks!

Back in my teen years, i used to break stuff, so if you were passing by my grand-parents home, you'd hear some great "kiais" be it before or after bruising my hands lol, i won't bother mentioning my influences

Most of us grow out of being a backyard gladiator in the early teens. For adults to continue to do it is a bit sad.

Exactly my points. We all USED TO do this, when we were children...and of course its hilarious. I wouldn't even pay attention, but he was just so damn serious. The best part of his video is the "rei" at the start of the video, complete with cocking his head to the side like he's about to really go to war with somebody. He erased all the negative comments people have left, guess he's a touchy samurai.
