There has to be a lot of pressure on them; unfortunately they get a lot into tsubazeriai because of this, I believe.

I believe Monsieur Sicart is Yondan or Godan?

I'm not sure about Mr Dubi.

At this level and at such an important match Tsuberzeriai is to be expected, neither wants to give away an opportunity.

Its very similar in All Japan matches in that respect.

But when they do attack they give it their all. Some lovely Ippon by Dubi, great Kote.

I think the shinpan should have called wakare to keep the flow of the match going smoothly.

Good video but why do people insist on clapping when anyone does anything?

How about to cheer for their teammates? Since you are only allowed to scream: gambatte and fighto! You arent going to scream gambatte and fighto ALL of the time, so you clap! Besides that, i know from own experience that when somebody tries to go for an ippon and its not that perfect, if people cheer really hard the ippon has a slightly bigger chance of being given by the shimpan.

Actually, you are not allowed to shout anything (although someone should tell the French coach that), hence the clapping. This was emphasized in the Team Managers briefing.
