Mizoguchi-ha Itto Ryu

During training with Ozawa sensei and Miyagawa sensei last weekend at the Ollerton seminar we covered some of the Mizoguchi ryu kata. All I know of the history, is that it's an offshoot of itto-ryu named after the founder (unsurprisingly) and comprises five tachi and five kodachi kata. Apart from that I know very little and koryu.com doesn't tell me much more.

Any of you historians able to fill me in with some background please? Some of the forms suggest to me that the kendo no kata were somehow based around them.

If I'm not wrong, one unique aspect about their Kata is that, the Uchidachi is the one that wins, and not the Shidachi.
