    Angry my do

A while ago we did an excersise in our dojo where u lie on your stomach and drag your body forward using ur forearms. I asked my sensei if I could take my do off, but he said to leave it on like eevryone else, so I did without question. After doing that excersise, I look at my do, and right flat in the middle is a circle in which the finish of my do was entirely scraped off. My do has a black and dark red marble finish which i am very fond off, and I really dont like it being uglified as it is.

Is there anyway I can somehow cover it up with some sort of...polish...or wax or something?

What kind of a stupid exercise is that? Are you sure your sensei wasn't making fun of you?

Muscle is built at the gym using proper equipment. Some stupid improvised lat-pulldown exercise only results in your dou being scratched.

Well, i know this exersise, it very relaxing and helps to strech!! But when we do this in my dojo s nice to take everything of, it reads Do and Tare.

I´m very sory about your do, i know how hard it is to have this, i´m very fond of my do to.

So here is my advice: e-mail the factory of your Do or just tell me where you buy it, and then i can help you more!!

    Good luck for now.

Is it just me, or does this sound like a truly stupid thing to ask someone to do?? I mean, the exercise itself I know, but insisting somone keep their do on during it?????

Crap, I posted before the end of the message.....

What I wanted to add was that a kendoka should have respect for his equipment, so I don't really see how doing that exercise with your do fits in that.... :/ Sad story for your do indeed :/
