    Kendo Book

Well I dont know much because I dont want to put alot in my head but I picked this book up and well I figured that if I read a book on Kendo maybe I can learn about the history behind it, the philosophy's, how its done, and comparision to the samurai. I AM NOT learning from a book, I am going to a dojo but I figured that a reference book would be nice to have. Its The Heart of Kendo by Darrell Craig. From what Ive read its really a good book. Its opened alot in my mind and has changed afew of my views. I dont know if its a good one to choose right now but I think its really a good book. It even shows how the footwork is done. Its really interesting and to believe I only got it for $24.95!

The thing that turns me off from the book is that it's too wordy for what they are trying to explain. Call me lazy, but I didn't really care for having to search within blocks of text to find the one part of something I am looking for. While the book is full of useful information, there are better books that are organized better and probably more useful to the complete beginner, such as Kendo: The Definitive Guide.

Yeah but unfortunately Borders didn't have it in. THis book is easy to find the information if you look. It does take awhile to get to the spots but the information he gives is what opens the mind and makes you think imo. I really like this book as you can tell. I know I will get way more books on Kendo but this is one thats good to start out on. Well in my opinion, considering I havent seen the other books.
