So.. the video with Parker was from March? I heard he was (re)stationed back in Japan? (Maybe he is now?)...

Must admit, I haven't crossed paths with him since before he passed 5.dan ... I can tell a bit of a difference in his kendo since then, but his voice/kiai hasn't change a bit.

Rogers, yes Parker sensei was back for a visit in March. I think he was only in Florida. As far as I know he and his wife currently live in Okinawa (and have since they left the States. Parker sensei asked to be stationed there and since he is a Col. he is able to get some priority to his requests).

Yes, it was very short visit to Florida at that time... He was at the Bartow dojo right after he arrived... jetlag.....

Isn't his wife originally from Japan?
If he's in Okinawa, that means there are two folks there who might be able to help out "Memphis Kendo Guy" since he just got stationed over there...

Thanks for sharing the videos - attended univ. in Florida but didn't start Kendo there. Felt a bit sorry for the beginner in sweat pants, tho.

I have to say, teaching kids are very challenging. Once they absolve technique, they really learn fast. They often try to imitate my bad habits too... I just have to be better and it is hard...
