What grade is your Dojo leader / teacher? (Again)

    Hi

I asked this question on KW a while ago here. Thought it would be good to ask again and see if anything has changed.

What grade is your Dojo leader / main teacher?

    Many thanks

    John

Teacher's ranks is a good indicator of quality/progress of Kendo in a country (outside Japan and Korea). There are only a few countries that can have 7-dan sensei and even in those, lower ranked teachers are still (somewhat) common.

This is a good follow-up from the one the OP did years ago.

Unfortunatly my situation remains the same: sensei is still 7-dan, though he tried for 8-dan earlier this year.

A few hachidan (one hanshi) and more nanadan than you can shake a shinai at.

I put hachidan because I'm registered with 3 dojos, 2 of which have big men at the captain's table (one of them has 4....and it's not a police dojo!), and the Big O should be one by now anyway.

    I'm jealous of you all!
I get to train only two-three times a year with a nanadan sensei, and only once did with a hachidan sensei in my Kendo life...

Put Hachidan, Iaido - Hachidan plus a bunch of nana dans, Kendo --- will be starting up again and sensei is kyoshi nana dan (sp?) , Aikido not sure what the head Sensei rank is.

To be fair, you'd have to make separate threads for each area... I mean, I voted for 7-dan, but I also live in Japan, which I imagine would skew the statistics a little.
