I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but I found this documentary to be very interesting. It follows two Sensei on their journey to attain 8 Dan ranking in Japan. again, sorry if this has been posted before:

It really is a good documentary. But I imagine everyone's seen it many times.

I just wonder if one of these days (in the distant, distant future) I'll be one of the guys going for this test. I can safely say that I am at the extreme other end of 8 Dan, but time is a funny thing in that you never know what it will bring you...

Someone mentions that the 7 Dan at the beginning of this video is Ishida Sensei. I was curious if that is the same Ishida Sensei that is featured in the 8 Dan documentary. Anyone know?

No, it's a diferent Ishida. The one on Nat Geo is Kenishi Ishida. The one with Taniguchi sensei is Toshiya Ishida.
