cream, spray, and put powder in your shoes to soak up moisture, if possible take an extra pair of socks and change midday, my feet sweat a lot so i'm always fighting it in one way or another. It doesnt help that the foot softening cream i also use to avoid cracks in kendo seems to make the fungus go into overdrive.
    I'm a super kendo slacker.

    avoid ;)

Wear light leather shoes. Your feet should never feel sweaty. Shoes need a day to dry after wear, so have more than one pair. Wash socks as hot as possible. Keep your feet smooth and avoid fissures.

After shower always dry your feet properly. Take the towel and clean the the space between the toes.
Nowadays there are so many good creams that athletes foot isn't really an issue anymore.
