I have actually put an English translation of the competitor profiles on the KW homepage article for the champs here. It is not as detailed as the AJKF profile though.

Also, sometime this afternoon/evening there should be an English language tournament ladder being put up on the top-page. We are hoping to be able to update it as the tournament progresses so please find out where the 'refresh' button is on your computer!!

Sorry, I just meant the URL to ZNKR's site. I'm not trying to undermine your efforts. It is much appreciated.

No no no worries. You actually provided more info than I did. How did you find out about the fist in the mouth and the national anthem thing? It must be a West Japan thing. We are far more civilised in the East.

Actually, after last year's gaijin smash I am almost ready to believe that.

A tournament ladder for the AJKC has just been put up here. If everything goes well, we should be updating it as the tournament progresses.

I should have checked this out a bit better. I just realised that Aichi, if in the East West Tournament, is actually East. Still, they border the West so there must be a lot of Western influence there. Those boys from Holland were well and truly West.

That's true, I didn't really think of that. This reminds of some stupid Japanese TV show(is there another kind???) I saw years back in which they visited two border towns (one in Aichi and one in Mie). Even though they were right next to each other, the town in Aichi used more Eastern hyoujun-go while the town in Mie used more Kansai influenced Japanese (not straight up Kansai-ben however). The only example I can remember is the dry cleaners; one place used the word wai-shirts and the other used kata-shirts. I found it borderline interesting.

You can clearly see the far west influence in how some ended up face down in a urinal. Classy.

I am not sure what a shandy is but it's probably not good. And, if I may, I was sucessful with my biting (so I hear).

    That still makes me chuckle.

edit: A shandy is a beer mixed with lemonade. It's usually good for lightweights like you.

This is not to defend my ability to hold alcohol, it's not a source of pride or anything like that, but I think you may be a little mistaken about the amount I consumed that evening. Anyway I kept my face out of public toilets; I can hold my chin up about that.
