    Semi-Finals
    ******************************************

The top 4 players (red vs white) were:
    o Teramoto vs Uchimura
    o Takahashi vs Takasaka

Teramoto vs Uchimura was a really anticipated battle (2007 champion vs 2006 champion). Uchimura had beaten Teramoto before in 2006, but
Teramoto had won the World Kendo Championships' Mens' Individuals. Uchimura didn't even place at all in the 2008 AJKC, but he's back this
    year.

Around the middle of the match, Uchimura scored a Kote on Teramoto.

Just seconds before time, Teramoto scored a Men on Uchimura.

A few minutes into enchou, Uchimura finally won with a Men.

    Finals
    ******************************************

Uchimura Ryouichi (Red) vs Takahashi Hidehito (White). Both are 29 years old, 5dan, and police officers from Tokyo. This year is
    Uchimura's 4th time entering AJKC, and Takahashi's 3rd time.

Just two minutes into enchou, Takahashi tried to block Uchimura's yoko Men, but it managed to go through at an angle, and scored.

It looks to me like Imoto's tsuru was caught on Suzuki's sakigawa as he (Imoto) pulled back after the kote strike. If you watch closely, you can see the two shinai shaking as they brush by each other and catch at 0:28. I think that's when the tsuru snaps.

yep i see it he definitely catches the sakigawa. makes it even more impressive that he was able to pull the men off even with the snag.

Man of the match was Oishi from Osaka for me, I was gutted when he lost to Takahashi, especially after pounding on Shodai in the first round too! His kote against Imoto was just awesomeness!

And I had way too much beer in too short a time last night and have a god awful hang over this morning.....urgh....

Great choice of music, though it panged a sense of regret in me. Regret for the opponents who the points scored against them. The music, for me, highlighted the moment the opponent realised that an ippon had been scored.

    Well done. Bravo
