    Question New User Profile Display

I've temporarily changed the user profile information to display on the left of the post, what do you think? Keep it or lose it?

It's ok but have you found our flags yet?

It makes very short messages take up a lot of screen space.

ETA: It seems that signatures have to start below the poster's information, so that makes things even longer.

I agree with Kent, but I think this is a good thing. It breaks up the various posts with a space so it makes reading/scrolling easier.

Not bad. Agree that it takes more screen space, but also makes every post more distinctive. In a couple of hours I'll be at work, where I have a screen with less resolution, and will see how it looks there.

So far looks like a keeper, in my opinion.

I like it, a lot of other forums I post on have the same lay-out.
Is it possible to increase the size of the avatars?

I think it wastes a huge amount of screen space. For example, on my laptop, Scott's one-line post takes up nearly the entire screen.

After the CMS part of the site is up and running, I will look at creating a style to cover both options, on the left and at the top. For the interim, however, I think we'll stay with them on the left.

No to increased avatar size also, server load is the main reason I wouldn't want to go there, apart from the aesthetics.

No comment on original question by Hamish, but find the letters smaller when I'm typing out the words (tho posted, are larger) and the blues, well, not a fav colour (and my chelonians lost their unique colouring). JMO

Cool that way. I agree with Kent with the signature issue looking odd for lengthy sigs... Anyway...

But my fav in the new things are those nifty floating flags!!
