I agree. They are showing extreme irresponsibility by doing those tricks.

I think these guys have been discussed on this forum before..Cant remember where though.

Wow, that is pretty stupid and reckless. The fact that comments were disabled on YouTube tells me that the poster probably took a lot of heat for this stunt.

Who knew that rare ancient samurai used theatrical vegetable preparation to train their immovable minds!

On a more serious note, his Eishin ryu vid says enough.
    I love these quotes:
what you are meaning, is the great kendo error. because seitei iaido is closly linked to kendo. they agreed to straighten the hips and back foot. this is unnaturel. and when wearing a yoroi unpossible. when you lock the hips foreward there is to much tension. don't forget the sword is sharp and will cut. one should move relaxed. straight hips and foot, fore kendo okay but fore ko-ryu iai, not okay.
... modern iaido is influenst by kendo. but comes from iai-jutsu. the old schools perform sinking in, not hitting forward. there is no right or wrong. but to be sure, one must study both. 20 years ago, i have started out with my hips forward. but uchikomi (1000 reps a day) made me wiser. the bending of the back leg is a result of relaxing the shoulders and spine. if one only bend the back leg, then it is not so good.
When you see this guy teaching, just turn around and walk away.

Iaido: "You can have my sword when you pry it from my cold dead fingers!"

These are not skills, this is a trick. Just like any magic show with a guy chopping watermelon on a chap's stomach. If you see the second cut, it clearly touches the chap's arm without injuring him. Sharp katana would have certainly injured him if not cut off the whole thing. The trick is to use a sharp enough blade to cut the veggies but dull enough not to cut flesh if pressed ( But don't ever slice for goodness sake ).
