    Kendo Movie........Raizo Ichikawa in "KEN"

So I was looking for a made for T.V. movie a while ago. It had a Japanese farm boy living in the U.S. and he meets an american girl and they fall in love. Some of the local redneck boys don't like that and come to beat him up, but as they are confronting him he asked them if they new what kendo was as he unscrewed the handle of a rake. After they said "no" he then proceeded to whip there A**! I ask my Kendo Sensei's if they have heard of it? There answer was "No, but have you seen "Ken" yet? "No" was my answer back, then I got on the forum and asked all of you folks. No one seems to know but then someone asked me if I saw this "KEN" movie???
After hearing this over and over I started to look for "Ken"by Mishima Yukio. I found it on youtube in parts but it is only half complete. I had to order it..... AND WOW..... what a trip. I love the old school feel of it but the end threw me for a total loop!!!
I never expected that! And never got to see the championship match... bummer, I was hoping to see Kokubu and Kagawa go head to head!
I would love to hear what you all think of this movie and if there are any other cool Kendo flicks please speak up. I am really enjoying this great sport (even though I'm a major Newbie)

Thanks for your time and feedback everyone!

A little OT, but it seems like the prices on japanesesamuraidvd.com are alot lower than other sites I've seen, is it a totally legit site?

I had watched a rebroadcast TV series "Nemuri-kyoshiro 眠狂四郎" in the evening time after I went to back from school.
I didn't know about " KEN(剣)" until I read this thread. So thank you for the up.
I'm going to rent the DVD at TUTASYA in Japan.

Highly doubtful. They don't mention what region the dvds are so you may be buying region 2 encoded dvds. Otherwise, if they're region 1, they'd definitely be pirated cause the prices are hugely different from reputable vendors for region 1 dvds.. Also found this little gem and their site here
All movie titles at Japanesesamuraidvd.com are believed to be in the public domain.
Other stuff on that page makes me a bit leery also.

So I'd say it's suspicious and I wouldn't shop there.
