    Cool

The Amitake is the old-fashioned, black-laced (cross-cross) dou in the link Andy gave, 1/2 way down the page, on the right near the sakura-bark model. I guess one could repaint the natural-color brownish model with a favorite hue...like pink.

Maybe I should look into making one. I know a couple of people who could draw her in dogi and bogu, and then some lacquer... Hmm. Totally doable! But... there was no answer to the previous question about making your own. Are there weight restrictions? Other things to be aware of?

Got me.... No idea! I guess what you could do is buy a few tsuba and then weigh them to see what the approximate weight and thickness over all is, and then make one. Otherwise, I've no clue about making one...

I'm thinking it could be done with two layers of impact-resistant plastic, one of them clear. You put the colored one facing towards the tsuka, glue the graphic to it, and then put the clear one on top, facing the nagasa. Some clear epoxy holds the two layers together, and little careful work with sandpaper makes the edges rounded.
