Jodo clip from 75th anniversary NHS

The best clip I've seen so far (of Jodo) from Kendo-worlds archive

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNb6q...eature=channel

It features (some) kage kata of Shinto Muso ryu and several kata of jutte from the Ikkaku-ryu tradition.
Kata bujutsu teachers neither victory nor defeat, but rather how to nurture others and pull them to a higher level. That is budo. /Nishioka Tsuneo - SMR

    Cheers Fred!

Great vid and very good timing as we have been working on kage recently and it is very new for me. Fun, short sharp and straight to the point - I likey! Practitioners appear to be doing Tokyo style which is what I practice.

Thanks for posting the link - you always find the best stuff.

Tachi is Arai sensei, so yes, Tokyo folks. Arai sensei will be with Shiiya sensei at the combat games in Beijing at the end of the month. Go Jo!

    Kim.
There were four groups doing Jo at Nakano. Tokyo no Jo: 2 groups (Arai Sensei's being one), Fukuoka no Jo (Matumura Sensei's group), and Nakayama no Jo (Yushinkan who also did Shindo Munen Ryu Kenjutsu as well). It was a good day for Jo overall ^^

Though with all honestly Arai Sensei's group was probably the best
