    Furukawa scores great de-gote in the first minute. Almost trademark tsuki by Furukawa... Do steps out of bounds. Time up. Furukawa wins.

    S. Kamata (CAN) versus T. Wu (TPE).
    Wu scores the first men, but is knocked on his backside. Then follows up with an awesome kote to win the match. Next round is the semifinals.

    Funatsu (JPN) versus Park (KOR)
    Great, a rematch from the East versus West that ended in a draw...
    Match starts. Both look like they mean business...
    Encho.
    Park knocks Funatsu's shinai out of his hands. Hansoku.
    The match is very tense. Couple fo close calls for both sides. At this stage Park seems to have the upper hand.

    That wraps up the competition events. Now we have the awards ceremony and a few demonstartions of kid's kendo, godo-geiko etc. It has been a great expereince being here. I hope they do this again. Nothing is set in concrete at this stage, but I think the Sportaccord Combat Games are generally regarded as being a success. KW will have videos and more detailed reports in the near future. Hope you enjoyed the coverage.
