    tameshigiri for beginners... ok if you have spare swords you can afford to bend or break. Only cut I would allow would be on a couple of mats and diagonal after i had set them up in correct stance, distance etc etc etc...

    ahh... but look at Nakayama Hakudo and Oe sensei! Iwata sensei told me that oroshi looks better if you have a tache.... something to do with the twitch you make whilst smacking the tsuka in...

    Beginners usually cut just fine - it's those who have been training for a while that over think it and torque the cut.

    It's quite funny when they realise they have been outcut by a beginner.
