    New York City Dojos?

Hi all! I finally found sometime in my schedule to take some Kendo classes but after a couple minuets of searching I was surprised by how many dojos there are in New York City. I was thinking about New York City Kendo Club, Ken Zen, or ShidoGakun and I was wondering if there are any members of this forum that attend any of these dojos that can tell me a little about them.

    Thanks in advance!

I am a Ken Zen member. The ones you mention are all very good.

I'm a member of Shidogakuin myself. You should visit the dojos to check out the vibe. You may find that one is a better "fit" for you. Happy hunting!

Of those three you can't really go wrong. Therefore, as suggested, visit them all and decide based on which one 'grabs you' the most.

I used to be a member of both shidogakuin and ken zen via their affiliates and have trained with sensei from both, though I haven't been to ken zen's new location.

You won't go wrong with any, find the one where you are the most comfortable and meets your schedule.
I remember some guy asking Liang Baiping what the philosphy of Taiji was. Baiping looked at him and said, "The philosophy of Taiji is to crash through to their center and kill them".

Thanks for the link toecutter. Ebihara Sensei does not look anywhere near 70 looks more like hes in his 50's I find it quite hard to believe, and the Dojo looks so nice.
